Well you could be right, but it's quite a long time we installed the printer with an EFI RIP. and with that damned SCSI connection, I don't know why the rip doesn't find the printer.
If somebody has a idéa it would be welcome. One thing is sure the SCSI chain recongnizes the printer in the Adaptec card system, but not under windows XP after !
First there's no driver for Seiko in shape of simple printer driver controled under "Printers and faxes" in Windows. There are drivers for rip softwares! If you are talking about this, you have to say what kind of rip do you use!
And for last mail: you have to install ASPI driver first! Then check if WinXP (computer) automatically detected Generic Printer - go to Device Manager in Control panel/System/Hardware. There check for IEE*something* and search for Generic Printer. When you find it, just disable it! Problem is in Plug'n'Play option in Windows. When you connected printer XP automatically associated generic printer driver to that connection - and automatically "forbiding" other programs to see printer on that "port"!
