Does anyone know how to hack the 53' print limit with Onyx. I have talked to Onyx tech support and they had a couple suggestions but they said the issue is known there and a solution is probably around June or July.
Hi, Sorry for the confusion the limit I am trying to find out about is the 53 ft. limit on the job length. If I print a job with multiple copies or multiple jobs Onyx will not transfer more than 53 ft worth of imaging on a roll of media. This has to do with the max limit of data proccessed by Onyx a 595,000 lines of data in high resolution mode. They told me (as i understood it) that if I print in standard mode I can possibly get longer lengths (it sounds engineering to me). I use to be able to print using HPs, ENCADS, and ESTATS to print 100ft rolls at one nesting que now that seems to have reduced to 53ft. So if anyone knows a hack please share.
if you go to the onyx folder then common you will see a text file with the printer name on it if you open this in notepad and scroll down near the bottom will see the page size,s with area limits you can then edit the size limits for the size of media
Now I tell you the interesting part. I am using version 6.0 and in the common folder ther are no per say *.txt files withe the printer name on it. There are however Printer name.dll (which i don't touch) Printlib PRNLIB file, PrinterFile and Html help file. I remeber I use to do something with the PRNLIB file for profiles. Do you have any idea which one it might be?
