Just got word from a friend/neighbor who just got back from driving into Lake Village. He said the neighborhood is fine. Damage is here and there. Some houses got wind & tree damage, some did not. No flooding and we have RUNNING WATER! No power but he said they are kicking butt out there and already stringing new electrical lines and clearing roads! Our house was almost untouched. We live on Lake D'Este near the curve and dead end. Out of 5 trees in our front yard 2 are still standing and the others fell in the street. Roof is in tact. My neighbor who lives 4 streets over on Lake Caddo has a tree in his kitchen. No looters were seen. They plan to go back tomorrow and stay there to start cleaning up. Do not re enter with out a gun, generator, fuel adn lots of food if you go back and plan to stay for more than a few hours. I-10 and gause toward military was clear. He said the schools on Pearl were there, not sure extent of damage (my daughter goes to little oak). I think this is great news and hope this helps out to give you the condition of the general area. Hopefully we can get in soon and I think we will have power back sooner than we think.
