I really wish you can help me with information, my printer is the MUTOH ROCKHOPPER 1 ,I bought in UK and brought to Nigeria Africa where we don't have a qualified tech. I have been repairing the printer my self with supplies from digitprintSupplies of Belgium. For six months now I have not been able to print because the printer has persistently written encoder error 070 and refusing to complete initialization. I have replaced the following parts;
I replaced the new board with the old board the problem persisted this means the problem is not with the board or parameters on it . The carriage could only move a distance of 24" on the rail before moving back to the wiper station. I must have created the problem while I was looking for solution to the encoder error which has been solved by copying the parameters from the old damaged board onto the new one . I sent a job of wider dimension to it , all it could do was to print to 24" and left the remaining . Anyway out for me ?
i had the same problem - changed the encoder(but that needs to be put in a certain way), changed the printheadboard (has encoder scanners built in) , but the y motor is the the thing that needed replacing. I had replaced that before on another same machine, but it was sounding very cranky, but the error code for that was not showing, The machine sometimes has very tiny things wrong, but it is a long learning process, but worth it in the end.
With these machines it is safe to have another one as spare(I have 2 rockhopper 38s) or to double up when really busy - but that has been handy when you are not sure what part is the problem.
than x to everyone , my problem was actually the virgin motherboard I bought from Digiprint , I had to buy a flash card and parameter card to get it configured and it is working great .
