Magnetic?

Has anyone sucessfully printed on magnetic material, without any "sticking" issues?

Nope...But it seems it would be next to impossible considering the heater are metal.

ha ha sounds like real fun. i suppose it would depend on the level of magentism the media has. can you buy it on some sort of backing liner? maybe that's the key..

We've tried feeding a roll of banner under the mag at the same time and we also tried taping thick banner to the heaters. Taping the banner to the heaters worked the best but we still had a slight amount of sticking, then overprinting occured. Why dont they just make the heaters out of aluminum? That would make too much sense.

not sure they actaully thought somebody would want to print magnetic substrates!! plus aluminium does not hold heat very well and would make the heating and subsequent drying harder. have a word with the media supplier to see what they can do.

Beacuse of the head height only thin magetic material will work- the problem is that due to the thickness (or lack thereof) the sheeting does not have enough magetic strength to be used on the sides of vehciles- it would only be suitable for rear vehicle applications... unfortunately... :(
