new one

Hello !

I've got a CP64S for about a month, and I've some little problems.

1- With the new firmware, in mode standard(4 passes in 720 dpi) It's running at 10mē/h, normally it must running 16mē/H. The head stop (about 1.5sec) at every passage on left and right. In mode Fast (360 DPI 4 passes) it running 16mē/h, the head doesn't stop.

2- when I'm printing banner, after about 10m, it doesn't roll up correctly. I heard the motor work but it doesn't roll. The weight is about twelve kilos max.

Thanks for your answers and all apologies for my english, I'm french.

Your speed problem is probably a SCSI issue. Seiko has a patch to eliminate the pausing. Contact Seiko.

Yeah, the takeup system is the only thing I really dislike on the Seiko. I asked a tech about it, and he admitted that the best that could be expected when using banner material was 20-30 feet. There is an adjustment to the takeup drive's clutch that might help a little, but not much.

Thanks for your replys.

I've solved the problem of the takeup system. I've put too strong the chuck on the roller, with less pression and with the tension mode, that functions better.

For the speed problem, the tech said me that they had not upgrade my scsi card, and they will come to change that.

Now I've got problems with Light cyan and light magenta, I've a perfect nozzle but as soon as it starts to print, there is banding. I can see that too on the color stripe. I hope that a head can work correctly more than one month!!!

My seiko has one month and the tech comed two times (a dumper was dead, they changed the magenta's head, and they fixed correctly the head's block because it was not tighten)

So I'm waiting for them for the third time!!!

A last question, which temperature have in the part of the seiko???

Thanks a lot

Seiko made us get a new SCSI card, said old one was too slow and the printer would go to clean heads whilst waiting for data.  did see the problem (though MUCH less) after upgrade.  now we have switched from Caldera to Postershop, It no longer happens at all... PC vs. MAC......PC wins yet again!!!
