I have a customer who is printing on 1/2 inch foam plate, almost 10 feet long. The weight of the plate is quite heavy, but he still uses the normal table, not the heavy duty table that is available as an option. The problem seems to be that the printer is not able to feed the plate evenly through the printer without slippage. I cleaned the pinch rollers and the grit roller, but with no better results. The customer says that he has to adjust the media feed value while printing, sometimes the resulted value during printing is completely different to the original value stored for that perticular media. I also checked the y-motor gears for worn out but can not find anything wrong there.
The printer's tables can be fitted with an upgrade that physically attaches the tables to the printer and adds a set of media guide fences that forces the media to feed straight. There are also some adjustments that can be done to the pinch rollers that also could improve media feed.
