Engine Error 1160???

Anyone know what a Engine error 1160 is? It then asks me to poweroff/on.

It has been happening more frequently the last couple of days.

Help please

So I found the switch but it looked fine to me. I just jiggled it around and reboot and we shall see what happens.

this will probably be the small microswitch that controls the wiper blade assembly. i put money on this being covered in wiper fluid and the outer casing has melted. just take the casing off and relocate the switch. easy

using a flat head screwdriver, remove the 'spit cup' next to the wiping area and you will see the switch.

very true. it's held on with one small screw so be careful when removing. it's a bit on the fiddly side but with time it's easy enough.

you may have to disconnect the attached cable to remove it completely. easiest way to to remove the end covers first to give you access.

I got the error again and sure enough the switch casing came right off. It says in the thread I should relocate the switch? Wouldn't that make the switch inop? I see it gets switched when the wipers go around by a little clip.

I still get the error with the cover removed. Anyone have any suggestions?

it's because the wiper fluid has melted stuff.
check the connection is still ok, otherwise you'll need a whole new switch assembly..
