Life after Seiko?

My ColorPainter is still going strong (knock on wood!) But I'm intrigued by the new printers out there. It still seems like the Seiko technology is holding its own. Has anyone seen a new printer that is blowing their minds?

saw the latest offering from epson recently.

don't laugh, it's not going live until aorund sept '08, but from the prints i managed to see, it looked really good.

i think it was 64inch, epson high quality print using a solvent-type of ink but with no smells and bad bits in. take up reel, big cartridges, oh and they say it will be pretty quick, but i couldn't get any figures out of them.

the 9800's have now been succeeded by the newer 9880 with different magenta ink. they are also faster then the 9800.

saying that, for quality, nothing beats epsons; they just need to work on the speed a little, that would make them untouchable for production work.

Saw their solvent printer at Orlando show. 64 inch mild solvent. Excellent prints. A little too pricey for me though.
