$199 a liter? That's not a big difference. Makes for approx 150 Euro. I can have thirdparty in the range of 90-110 Euro. So judging by the fact that currently i pay 210-220 Euro for originals, then this is half the price. Plus, some sources said that if i buy six six-colour packs, i will get 30% discount on the originals ;) I still have to investigate it, but that'd be nice, especially that six complete packs are actually going to last for what, a month? or two? when working 24/5, sometimes 24/7.
But what needs to be emphasized is that in case of Seiko, the price matters a bit more than in case of bigger solvent machines. It's already nice at around 220 Euro, as compared with the initial 300-350 Euro (in some countries). But it's still a lot. For example for large format printers like Vutek or Scitex, you can have the original inks at around 50 Euro, the renowned third parties for 30-35 Euro, whereas chinese show up at 15 Euro. But actually this is just cents of difference, because the average usage of ink per square meter is low anyway, so the cost is what, $0,70 per square meter vs $0,50? :) Compared to the cost of credit/leasing and labour it's unimportant, plus, using the originals, you keep your head free of trouble.
Everybody can choose what to use and how to save money! If the difference between original ink and alternative ink is $30 I would better prefer Seiko ink, especially it is good ink. But in our case for example original ink costs $340 and alternative ink is $150 maximum. I suppose it is big difference and good economy. Thanks to Seiko printer it will work perfect with almost any kind of ink if you have experience with inkjet tech. But in signmaking industry it is not really honest to customer. Seiko would have much more sucess with open printer, like DGI for example. Regarding MEGAink, it is good ink and good bulk ink solution. We use it! Just think about, do you need warranty from Seiko which is sometimes could be not so good with bad distributor if you can return money much more faster using more affordable solution? regards, Gene
I'd like to ask you to disclose your email address so other 64S users may contact you directly in order to ask you about your experience with our inks and bulk system.
Thanks and best regards,

If you would be so kind to provide me with your contact details, I will be more than happy to provide you with a list of Seiko ColorPainter owners who are using our inks, bulk ink delivery system and chip bypass solution.
If you wish, I can also email you photos and videos of a ColorPainter running with our inks and system. Just ask!
Also - none of Megaink's owners, managers or employees are "ex Russians..." but - ohh well... I'll take that as a compliment I guess...
Best regards,
Eliav

I have already posted my e-mail. Once again, send my any question to aviators_72@list.ru
To Anonymous guy (about russia, etc). Where are you from? You should know that monkey does not live in Russia.
Seriosly, I am from Ukraine. While somebody thinking about solution for its Seiko 64S more then 50 users and we already use CIS by-pass system without any chip which lets you save lots of money using any kind of unexpensive ink (not only MEGAINK, any compatible). If you want to see it, wellcome to Kiev. If you are afraid I can arrange demosection in Europe, no problem. Regards, Gene
FILLINK - a belgian based manufacturer - started shipping alternative ink in chipped cartridges for Seiko printers in Europe. It seems to work very well. Check www.fillink.eu.com
FillInk seems to NOT work too well. So there is mixed info. I know of a customer who tried it and after a couple of weeks got back to the original inks.
I believe that if Seiko can go down with ink prices by 30%, the popularity of CP will rise and the popularity of third party inks will fall.
Anyway... I'm still waiting for good substititutes.
