Help! Seiko 100s

I've tried everything I know, cap filling with solvent followed by a strong clean, repeated cleanings, etc.... The problem continues to worsen.  Does anyone know what I can try other then head replacement? Could this be electrical? Could a head flush work? Any help would be appreciated.

This doesn't look like electrical failure. It looks more like ink + voltage issue.
Did all this happened suddenly or in some time?

Which inks do you use?

Have you changed head voltages?

Are those nozzles "only" misfiring or are there some permanently clogged nozzles?

Can you take picture of nozzle test?

It started about a week ago and has progressed rapidly. Attached are photos of the nozzle print.  We are using Lique inks. These are the inks that were in the printer  when we bought it, didn't want to change what was working. Only had the printer now for about a month. And the two week shipping did traumatize it. But after getting a tech in, it ran great and the tech said everything looked good.  We have not changed head voltage. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!

When you make strong cleaning dose those clogged nozzles get unclogged?
If you have constantly clogged nozzles, basically you don't have many options for that head - if there is more nozzles in row, you can't hide this bending!

I must admit that I haven't heard about inks that you use!

I had similar situation with my heads, lot of misfiring nozzles (all nozzles were firing but not on place where they were supposed to)!
I tried with all adjustments and improvement was seen but still problem stayed! Then I suspected inks although I had OEM inks!
Last resort was to change inks! I took Sunchemical inks!
After replacing inks heads were like new!
After some time I switched back to original inks due fact that I wasn't satisfied with result of this ones!

Now I'm still on OEM inks and heads are OK! I have to tell you that on this printer I still have 1st generation of print heads.

On the end I believe that my problem was solved by change of voltages (I lowered them approx. for 1.5 V) and fact that I flushed heads with ink (ink charge).

So, I don't think that you should change inks, but try to play with this things that I told you.

Just one thing, good ink charge (flush) is only possible if cappers are sealing head perfectly!

And on the end few points for misfiring nozzles:

1. it is happening if nozzle hole is deformed - this happens when your heads hit (touch) material - I would exclude this one

2. if there is some small build up of dirt or dried ink on nozzle exit, it can change direction of ink drop - this is possible if ink dry fast (common thing with 3rd party inks) - this can be cleared with ink charge (or flush)

3. viscosity of inks + "bad" voltage meaning deformed nozzle drop that is bigger or smaller than it should be resulting that it will fall on wrong place

Tried lowering head voltage and it didn't work. Will increasing voltage hurt the heads? Also can someone please tell me what the best head flushing technique is. OEM (ip6-117 with the 6
+ 6 cartridges, Triangles after market kit, or is there something better and do you know of distributors? THANK YOU!!

Thanks for your help!!!!!!!
Increased the head voltage by 2 volts, .5 at a time. It looks great now smile.gif
Apparently the temperature here in Illinois is not good on this printer, not in an atmosphere controlled room. 30 at night and 70 during the day.
Once again, THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!
