I'm trying to find Tommy Futral who lives at 1207 Lake Village Blvd. in Slidell. Also, Murial and Charles Martin, who are elderly folks who might have stayed in their home on Lake Vermillion Ct. If you know anything, please post. Thanks!
Charles and Muriel Martin are my uncle and aunt and our whole family is anxious to hear any word. As far as I know they did stay--my father (Charles' youngest brother) talked to Muriel on Sunday and they had no plans to leave. If you hear anything, please let me know @ Dr_One_L@hotmail.com . I've been reading the WWL TV and word out of Lake Village sounds encouraging re: damage, but I've no word on family members. If I hear anything from other sources, I"ll post back here and let you know.
my grandfather (Humphrey McCarron) lives next door to charles and murial, my parents said that when they return to slidell, possibly friday, they planned to check on them and make sure everything is alright. hopefully you can reach them before then, but i'll let you know any information that i get.
i hope tommy is ok...he and i were friends in high school, we graduated together. i'll post back with any information that i find out about the martins.
We have heard from Tommy Futral & he and his son are fine. A neighbor, Ken, also stayed and made his way to Baton Rouge and called. They confirmed reports that Lake Village suffered basically no flooding, but many trees are down. Some houses have roof damage, though all damage they have seen is the result of falling trees.
Thanks for the word that your family is going to try and check on my Aunt & Uncle--hopefully your folks will be allowed into the area on Friday! I'm letting my family members know to keep an eye out on this forum for word on the area and especially on Charles & Muriel. It's encouraging to have at least some hope that we may get word sooner rather than later!
I too am looking for Charles and Muriel, I am a younger brother of Charles and all my kids and other friends have been calling me to see if I have heard anything. I am in Muskogee, Oklahoma 918-682-4544 stan-martin@sbcglobal.net.... thanks so much for the small amout of info you have provided....
This is Humphrey McCarron's grandson - Charles and Muriel next door at 809 are fine - they stayed through the storm - no significant house damage. Tree in the backyard fell down but away from house. Land lines seem to be working better now so you should be able to call them.
