My folks have been at my house in Houston since Sunday, but today they drove back to Slidell to check out their house.  They said they were able to get to Slidell by going on I-12 and taking exit #83 and then head down Brownswitch and then down Miltary to WillowWood SD.  (Thanks to whoever posted that suggestion earlier.)  They said that WillowWood had a lot of trees down.  They live on Cross Gates Blvd. and the only damage they had were some downed trees, some fence damage and some roof shingles missing.  NO WATER in the house!!  But they did say that on their same street, further down the street close to the Gause entrance, their appearred to my flooding.  They also said that he heard there was 2 ft of water on the Silverwood street.  So though WillowWood overall looked pretty good, some streets had it worse than others.  They also said that there were a lot of other folks in the neighborhood checking out their homes. 

Dad said he knows everyone is hearing the parish is closed and you won't be allowed in slidell, but he said they didn't have any trouble at all gettng in.  WHile they were there, they drove all the way down Gause from Military to I-10.  So though Gause was flooded at some point in that area, it's not flooded anymore.  They also drove down Fremeaux and said the water had receded there, though there appearred to still be water on 3rd street.  They were able to head back on I-10.  They're in Baton Rouge tonight with my in-laws and then will be heading back to Houston tomorrow to stay with us again.  If i get more details from them i will post again.  Good luck to everyone....!
