Engine error 1260

Dear all member


i have problem with 64S, the control panel show that "error 1260"


i try to clean up the wire between main board & board at carriage but the error still persist.


Please advise what am i gonna do?

1260 error is the flat cables (ffc) that run from the large carriaqge pcb to the main board in the chassis of the printer. i would guess one has worn through and shorting somewhere or has a broken track. to get to these remove the top cover, rather large but only a 6 or so screws and you can then see the whole ffc cables (x4) which run the width of the printer. check each one, especially around the areas that the cables bend and dissappear into the bed (under where the carriage sits).


best to check where the cable ties are, as these are the most suspect areas of concern. let me know if you solve it.

does anybody have the spec sheet from a seiko tech that lists all of the error log numbers with their meanings?


might be a useful thing to have permanantly posted
