QS3200 print line complete error, carriage position error.

Hello, we are currently having these two errors come up alot on our Vutek QS3220.

We start printing and sometimes after the first pass it will not put any ink down, then freeze and wait for around 20 seconds it will then go home and error. Or it will start printing fine and it can get part way through a print and then freeze and do the same again. Also sometimes it will print the image in two or three different places alongside each other and in different colors. We can get either error, or both at the same time.

We have changed the 2 boards in the head and removed and cleaned all cables connecting into them. The two small black cables on top of the head and furthest to the left (the linear encoder cable and the lamp cable) i think, both seemed quite loose and looked as if they were pulling out. So we have fitted new screws to hold the cables down but this doesnt seem to have sorted the problem either!

Does any one have any suggestions, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thnaks Chris.

I cant tell you whats wrong with your printer but I can tell you about what I've experienced.
We used to have problems with print line complete errors on our qs2000. Running the machine in bi-directional exclusively solved our problems completely. Do not ask me why. I had not had one in over a year until last week when I decided to run 5 small prints on uni. The fifth print got the error. Can you tell if there is any pattern between the frequency of your print line complete errors and your uni/bi-directional print modes?
I have seen your other problem on our 3360 but only when printing in a high carriage speed mode. I think of it like the machine is scrambling the data. Our qs does not have a setting for carriage speed so I assume yours does not either? It could be something related to the ram or hard drive thats causing both of your problems but I am not the person to talk to about that.
I doubt this will help you. Just thought I'd share what I know.
