SA Vinyl Tunneling

Hi guys I was wondering if somebody could help me out. I am using a Clear Removable SA Vinyl and I can't get the media to stop tunneling. (Releasing from the paper back when printing creating bubbles). What I have tried so far is setting my pressures to light and running with almost no heat on the platen shoes, Because of this problem I have to run with the heads in the highest position so  I don't get head strikes but some text becomes blurry and I still get the odd head strike.

If anybody who has experience printing with this type of media and can pass along any tips it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Greg

Never had this problems, I guess vinyl is not really 1st grade. I would certainly try to cut back heater also, and see what happens. Not much more I can helpe, though.

What brand of vinyl? Is it made for solvent printing?

Yes is is for Solvent printing. To be honest we purchased this media a over 6 months ago and hardly use it so I don't know the name.

have you tried putting a little bit of extra weight on the media path in and out? just an old core in the media loop may help to keep the media flatter and stop your tunneling.

Before or after the platen? I have noticed most of the tunneling occurs as soon as it enters the nip of the rollers.

try both as a small amount of weight 1-2kgs gives the substrate some rigidity and therefore prevent a lot of misfeeding issues, which include tunneling or ****ling.
